Justin Davis

Boone Officiant

Justin’s warm personality and welcoming attitude makes him a fantastic fit for our team of open-minded wedding officiants! Growing up in a Christian household, Justin was the endlessly-curious kid in Sunday school who asked questions, always searching for the deeper meaning of the lessons and wondering how it all fit together. Fascinated with religions and systems of belief from all around the world, Justin started researching and diving headfirst into studying world religions from a very early age.

After obtaining his undergraduate degree in Religious Studies from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, Justin moved to Massachusetts to earn his graduate degree in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School. During this time, he had the opportunity to study and learn alongside people of all different faiths and cultivate lasting friendships with those from all spiritual paths. While attending Harvard, he also interned at a local nonprofit organization, The Pluralism Project, which seeks to facilitate interfaith dialogue and action through active engagement across lines of difference. As such, along with his team, he has helped to facilitate and organize interfaith events with faith leaders throughout the Greater Boston Area.

Feeling the mountains calling his name once again, Justin now finds his home in the High Country of Western NC (Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Newland). In his free time, he enjoys reading and writing at local coffee shops, hiking through the beautiful scenery that Western NC has to offer, and making meaningful connections as he works at a local brewery in the High Country. He also enjoys photography, making music with friends, and is always challenging himself to learn new skills (such as cooking and baking).

Justin is incredibly excited and honored to be a member of the Asheville Marriages team. Using his experience in building bridges and connecting people of diverse backgrounds, Justin would love to help make your wedding day all the more joyous and meaningful!
